CONGRATULATIONS to the EGHS Speech Team for winning the Section 7A Championship for the 3rd year in a row!

Five members of the speech team will be advancing to the State Tournament: Amanda Rigstad, Quinn Muhich, Alec Gritzmacher, Amara Carey, and Kirsten Rothenberger. Again, congratulations to the whole team for their successes throughout the season!

Top Fundraisers Hoops for Heart

Congratulations to Nelle Shean students, Mylee Young and Maggie Kraushaar, for being the top fundraisers in the American Heart Association Hoops for Heart fundraising event held in Mr. Streier's Phy. Ed. classes.  Mylee is a sixth grade student and raised $335.  She is the daughter of Zach Young and Nikki Young.  Maggie is a fifth grade student and raised $200.  She is the daughter of Josh and Katrina Kraushaar.  Way to go girls!

 
 
Stanaway Commits to College of St. Scholastica

Golden Bear Senior, John Stanaway recently signed a letter of intent to play football at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth. He is the son of John and Brenda Stanaway from West Eveleth. Congratulations!

 
 
Cody Hendrickson Prep Athlete of the Week.

Eveleth-Gilbert Area Hockey player Cody Hendrickson has been named the Mesabi Daily News Prep Athlete of the week.  Cody is a senior at Eveleth-Gilbert High School.  Congratulations!

 
 
Girls Basketball Team Nominated for Outstanding Academic Achievement Award.

Congratulations to the Eveleth-Gilbert Girls Basketball Team and Coach Rautio!  The team was recently nominated for the Minnesota Girls Basketball Coaches Association Academic Award!  The team has a cumulative GPA of 3.86.  Of the 11 girls on the team, three had a cumulative GPA of 4.0!

 
 
Congratulations EGHS One Act Play Section 7A Champions!

The Golden Bear Thespians have advanced to the MSHSL State Tournament at the St. Catherine University O'Shaughnessy Auditorium of Performing Arts  on Thursday, February 8 and Friday, February 9.
