Eveleth-Gilbert Schools is currently accepting Kindergarten enrollments at Franklin Elementary for the 2018-2019 school year. Online registration is available here. Registration forms can be printed using this link.
This is the beginning of an exciting journey of learning for your child. The Eveleth-Gilbert Kindergarten All-Day-Every-Day Program includes:
Reading: Through our reading series, children learn to relate printed oral language, recognize letters and sounds and associate the two, recognize and understand frequently used words. Our district helps children to grow in the ability to read well independently by building on their previous experiences and
preparing them for later learning.
Math: The Kindergarten math program provides an opportunity for children to examine and explore a variety of materials through counting, sorting and classifying. Students will be taught simple addition and subtraction, how to recognize basic shapes, colors and numbers, and to use simple geometry and
perform measurements. Students will also receive instruction on telling time to the hour, and will work with currency. Students will also become familiar with and use a computer.
Kindergarten students at Eveleth-Gilbert Schools will also experience the following areas of learning:
Science, Health, Social Studies, Character Education as well as Music, Library, Computer/iPad , S.M.A.R.T. and Physical Education resources.
Kindergarten students must be five (5) years old on or before 9/1/2018 and received Early Childhood Screening. If your student still needs to be screened, call 218-744-2211 x5001.
